Dojo Update

posted May 17, 2020, 10:54 AM by Ulster Budokai

Hi everyone,

I hope you're doing well and keeping healthy.

Yesterday morning we had an online meeting with the senior members of the club. We discussed how we could re-open the dojo and resume classes in a safe and responsible manner. Several ideas were floated that we agreed made sense, and we'll send that out to everybody in the next week or so, describing a phased re-opening procedure, and everyone's responsibilities.

The biggest question we discussed was when could this take place. We all agreed that the answer was not yet. At this point we do not have a target date for re-opening, we are going to keep watching the local conditions.  We have decided to discuss the timeline again in two weeks.

I know we're all anxious to get back to practice, but the priority has to be to keep everyone safe and healthy. I'd also like to say I, and everyone from Ulster Budokai, miss seeing each and every one of you.

Thank you and stay safe,
Sensei Bill

Continued Class Cancellations

posted Mar 28, 2020, 11:28 AM by Ulster Budokai

Hello All,

I hope everyone is managing the quarantine, and staying safe.
I'm sure it's no surprise, we're continuing our suspension of classes for now.
We'll assess the situation again in two weeks and my hope is from there we'll be able to see some potential for resuming classes. We're not going to rush. As always, everyone's safety comes first.

Ali and I have been taking advantage of the nicer weather and going for walks with the boys just to stay active. We employ superior parenting skills by ignoring all of the whining and complaining.

Please stay safe, and healthy, and if there's anything we can do to help, please call.

Thanks
Bill

Class Cancellations: 3/14/2020 - 3/28/2020

posted Mar 14, 2020, 4:10 PM by Ulster Budokai

Hello All,

Due to concerns regarding the ongoing Coronavirus State of Emergency, and after a discussion with club members and parents, we have decided to cancel all Judo classes for the next 2 weeks (3/14/2020 - 3/28/2020).

A reevaluation of the situation will be made on Saturday 3/28/2020 to determine if classes will resume on Monday 3/30/2020.

We'll send information out again on Saturday the 28th, or sooner as conditions allow.

In the meantime, please stay healthy and safe.

- Bill
